Liquid Sulphur (56% S). Sulphur is an essential nutrient for plant growth. Although it is considered a secondary nutrient, it is now becoming recognized as the `fourth macronutrient`, along with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Approved for use in organic agriculture. 10L drum. More details below.
Liquid Elemental Sulphur
Sulphur is a critical plant nutrient which often gets forgotten by our narrow emphasis on NPK. Many Irish soils are deficient in Sulphur yet having adequate amounts is important for nitrogen use efficiency and will have a big impact on yield and quality. Plants which have a high sulphur requirement include oilseed rape, brassicas, onions, leeks as well as grassland. The main symptom of S deficiency is a leaf yellowing similar to that of N deficiency but with younger leaves suffering more.
Applying Liquid Sulphur
Applying as a foliar fertilizer in at least 300 L/ha water. With backpack sprayer at 0.2 - 1%.
Tillage. After tillering stage. 3-5L/ha. One or two applications
Grassland. 3-5L/ha. Several applications. One after last cut.
Fruit and Vegetables. When sufficient leaf mass has developed. 3-5L/ha. Several applications.
Potatoes. When tubers are forming. 3-5L/ha. Two applications.
Oilseed Rape. 5-10L/ha. One or two times. From 6 leaf stage until beginning of flowering.
