Starboard has taken a cue from one of its most popular downwinding shapes and tweaked it to be an amazing option for downwind foiling. The Freeride’s proven wide nose and tail provides extra stability and balance when applying the powerful strokes needed to get foiling in choppy swell. When not foiling, the deep and wide center channel, boxy rails, flat side panels and ultra wide diamond tail provide extra stability and easier turning on the tail. Not just suited for down wind foiling – can be used as an entry level sup surf foil board.
For all the parents out there into SUP, this would be a great board for your kids too! They can flat water paddle the board and cruise with you on rivers or out in light coastal chop on this board while you cruise on your own flat water board – and then when the wind and chop are up, you can use the Freeride as a foil board!

Extra-reinforced Tuttle foil box positioned just in front of the fins, providing optimal trim control from the mid-point of the board. Foil box cover is included so you can ride the Hypernut or Freeride normally without the foil. The Freeride is supplied with US center box, Dolphin 22” fin.
