The Dexel is one of our newest chicken breeds & we are proud to be the first to introduce this new breed in Ireland.
The Dexel is very popular abroad in country towns and farms alike. It is a relatively small bird that produces a large Class A brown shelled egg – every time.
The Dexel is an attractive bird with a combination of white and gold feathers accompanied by a black tip on it’s tail. It is capable of producing in excess of 310 eggs per year. It’s feed to egg ratio is second to none consuming only 122g of feed per day.
The Dexel is the result of crossing Rhode Island Red BARED paternal stock with Sussex maternal stock.
