The Animal Care Hospital Douglas Vets in Cork is an award-winning small animal veterinary hospital based in Douglas Village Co. Cork. The practice has been founded and operated by John O’ Mahony since 1995.

The practice has expanded from a one vet practice with one nurse to a caring practice with 4 vets, 3 veterinary nurses and a receptionist, who are all dedicated to providing both you and your pet with the highest quality care. All our staff regularly attend continuing professional development courses to ensure we are up to date with the latest in veterinary medicine and surgery.

The practice has undertaken major investment in refurbishment and extension. This includes a new purpose built, dedicated sterile surgical operating theatre, which is reserved for advanced surgery. This is complimented by a new prep-room, routine surgery and surgical scrub facilities, specialist surgical and diagnostic equipment.

We receive referrals both medical and surgical from other veterinary practices. Our facilities include in house laboratory and blood analysis machines, gaseous anaesthesia, dedicated dental station with a modern air driven dental unit and ultrasonic scaler, x-ray, ultrasound, dedicated chemotherapy facilities, 3 consultation rooms, pre-operative preparation and treatment room, computerised record system, and a cat boarding facility.

We have dedicated wards for cats and dogs to minimise the stress of hospitalisation with modern and comfortable shoreline kennels in both.
